The integration of environmental education as a discipline in the national educational system in primary schools by the ministry of basic education was a giant step to promote environmental education and governance in cameroon.
ICENECDEV termed this as breakthrough on environmental education in Cameroon. we therefore realized that ,it was our challenge to educate and sensitize the pupils, students and the inhabitants in local communities on contemporary environmental issues: sanitation, pollution and climate change.
ICENECDEV has promote this programs through the establishment of environmental clubs in schools in Buea, like with the case of Marthlo comprehensive bilingual college and standard comprehensive bilingual high school Great Soppo Buea in the south west region in Cameroon. These environmental clubs where educated with materials donated by TUSK, UK with resource volunteer from ICENECDEV and contact form teachers in the respective institutions.
ICENECDEV intends to expand this program to other regions in the south west like in Muyuka,Limbe and Kumba with a target of 10schools and 15 local communities to reach out the population
